Black nickel pins

Hard enamel pins are high-quality and scratch-resistant. The enamel and metal are even and polished, giving these pins a smooth finish. Choose this if you want a more durable pin.

On soft enamel pins, the colored paint is recessed into the metal mold, giving the pins a textured feel. The dimensional look of soft enamel is what makes so many people drawn to them.

Black nickel is a very dark gray metal that makes a nice substitute for a true black color. This is commonly used on hard enamel pins, as their metal cannot be painted a true black color.

Rainbow-plating (or anodized metal) pins come in a spectrum of colors that radiate outwards. Expect to see a variety of colors on each individual pin. One pin may be mostly purple and another one may end up mostly green! Enamel can be added as well. These are only available in cost enamel.

Antique gold gives your pins and old, weathered look. These cost an additional 20¢ per pin due to the additional coating and extra buffing done to the pins. Antique metal is only recommended in very rare cases. If you are simply going for a less glossy, more subdued look for your pins, matte gold is recommended instead.
